Phase 2

GMB Optimization (Engagement)

Increase user interaction with your Google Business Profile through photos, posts, messaging, and FAQs to boost visibility and conversions.

Lesson 1 of 4

Photo & Video Uploads

High-quality photos and videos significantly boost engagement on your Google Business Profile. Listings with photos receive 42% more requests for directions and 35% more click-throughs to websites.

Key Checklist:

  • Upload a high-resolution profile photo and cover photo
  • Add exterior photos showing your storefront and signage from multiple angles
  • Upload interior photos that showcase your space and atmosphere
  • Include team and staff photos to build trust and personal connection
  • Add photos of your products, menu items, or completed work
  • Upload short videos (30 seconds or less) showcasing your business
  • Geo-tag photos with your business location metadata before uploading
  • Maintain a regular upload schedule (at least 1-2 new photos per week)
Lesson 2 of 4

Enable Messaging

Google Business messaging allows potential customers to contact you directly from your listing. Fast response times improve your profile ranking and customer satisfaction.

Key Checklist:

  • Enable the messaging feature in your Google Business Profile dashboard
  • Set up automated welcome messages for first-time contacts
  • Aim to respond to all messages within 24 hours (faster is better)
  • Use messaging to answer pre-sale questions and book appointments
  • Monitor message notifications on the Google Business app
  • Create template responses for frequently asked questions
Lesson 3 of 4

Add FAQs

The Q&A section on your Google Business Profile is a powerful but often overlooked feature. Proactively adding questions and answers helps control the narrative and includes valuable keywords.

Key Checklist:

  • Pre-populate your Q&A section with common customer questions
  • Write detailed answers that include relevant local keywords naturally
  • Include questions about services, pricing, hours, and parking
  • Upvote your own answers so they appear first for each question
  • Monitor for new questions from the public and answer them promptly
  • Address objections and concerns proactively in your FAQs
Lesson 4 of 4

Post Offers

Google Posts are a free way to promote offers, events, and updates directly on your business listing. Posts with real photos and compelling CTAs drive engagement and conversions.

Key Checklist:

  • Create at least one Google Post per week to maintain freshness
  • Use real photos of your business instead of generic stock images
  • Include a clear call-to-action button (Book, Order, Learn More, Call)
  • Write posts that include relevant local keywords naturally
  • Promote special offers, seasonal deals, and limited-time discounts
  • Share event announcements for in-store events, webinars, or open houses
  • Track post views and clicks to identify what content resonates
